Measurement:

This week students learned about measurement in math. We learned how to properly use a ruler and how to measure in inches and centimeters.

Sound:

One of our sound experiments this week was conducted with a slide whistle. Students tried to find the lowest and the highest pitch by adjusting the slides. We measured the length of the slides when we found the pitch we were looking for and recording our findings in our Science Notebooks.

How to Catch a Star

Thank you so much to all of the parents who came to our shows to support our fabulous 2nd graders. I am so proud of all the hard work these kiddos put into this show! They have been working for months on this show and it definitely paid off. Great job Gummy Bears!

100th Day of School

We celebrated the 100th Day of School on Tuesday, January 20th. We used an app called Aging Booth to see what we would look like in 100 years!

Take a look at our virtual bulletin board.

Twitter

This week students learned a lot about Twitter. We learned who our followers are and how to connect with them, we learned how to tweet at someone and how to use a hashtag. Next week students will begin to have the opportunity to be "Tweeter of the Day". Students will use one of the class iPads to send Tweet updates throughout the day.

Be sure that you follow us on Twitter!

Technology Tuesday

Can you believe it? It's the 100th day of school already!

This week's Technology Tuesday has activities that have to do with 100. Check them out below.

Give the Dog a Bone is a fun game played on a 100s chart. Students should use what they know about the 100s chart to find the hidden bones. A fun challenge for the 100th day of school!

Here you will find activities to watch, play and explore having to do with 100.

Number Grid Fireworks - Find the hidden fireworks on the 100s chart for your very own firework display.

You're officially 100 days smarter! Congratulations!!
