Students also worked hard on exploring the United States on a virtual road trip! If your student would like to share the road trip with you at home you can view it by clicking here

This week we also had some 1st grade friends share some information about our new Buddy Bench at Barretts. The Gummy Bears learned how we can use this to make friends at recess.

Here's the student who created the Buddy Bench featured on the Today Show.

Week In Review - November 14th

Take a look at our Week In Review by clicking here

We had a very busy week in Room 220.

We celebrated Veteran's Day on Tuesday, November 11th. Take a look at those pictures here.

As we wrapped up our Changes unit in Science the students worked hard to create a lapbook that we called Matter Really Matters. We had a great time reviewing all of the things we learned throughout our unit and learning a new song about matter.

Many of you may have also seen the review homework that the students completed with links from the blog. I would love it if you'd take a moment and complete a quick survey so I can get some feedback from you.

We also shared our turkeys. Here are some of the creative turkeys disguises we came up with!

Enjoy your weekend!

Good Afternoon Scientists!

Tomorrow you will be taking the Changes Assessment. I'd like for you to spend some time tonight reviewing this information.

When you're done watching the video try the Sing Karaoke or Test Yourself to see how you do.

Next, review the difference between a physical change and a chemical change by watching the video below.

Now that you've watched the video, here are some games to play!

I hope you had some fun reviewing matter! Don't forget to have your parents sign your review slip.
See you tomorrow.

Veteran's Day 2014

We had a great time celebrating and honoring our Veterans today at the Veteran's Day Assembly and Parade.

To accompany our Veteran's Day activities we also read the book Courage by Bernard Waber.

Thank you to all of our Veterans for serving our country! We appreciate you.
