Skyping from Australia

Last week we had the unique opportunity to see some of Australia's famous landmarks first hand! Bella and her family have been vacationing there and had the chance to Skype with us from the Sydney Harbor.

Before our video chat we took the time to brainstorm some questions to ask Bella and her dad about Australia.

Once we learned about the time difference we were ready to go! On Thursday at 3:00pm (Saint Louis time) we called Bella. On her end of the phone it was Friday at 7:00am!

We were able to see the Sydney Opera House, the Harbor Bridge and even some ships coming into the harbor.

April Fool's Day!

April Fool's Day was so much fun in our classroom this year!

We started our morning with our regular routine, completing our Homework Log.

However, we were a little surprised when we realized we had to read 2,000 minutes!

After that we enjoyed some fantastic "brownies", homemade by Miss Strunk.

Turns out they were just Brown Es!

But we still had fun.

Week in Reveiw

Week in Review

You can view our Week in Reviews on our new Newsletter page of the blog.

Introducing...

Miss Anna and Miss Emma!

For the remainder of the year these two Lindenwood students will be working in our classroom and helping your students grow and learn. I wanted to take a minute to introduce them.

My name is Anna Kuiper. I am a Freshman at Lindenwood University and am majoring in both Early and Elementary Education. I love working with kids, so I babysit and nanny all the time. I have recently gotten a job at an after school program at Academy of the Sacred Heart, a catholic private elementary school. I am looking forward to more upcoming opportunities to better my career as a future educator. One way in which I get to better my career is school observations at Barretts Elementary. I have already observed one day, and I look forward to encouraging and supporting your child in their studies as I observe/work at Barretts Elementary this semester.

My name is Emma Marsoun and I am a second year student at Lindenwood University. I've always had a passion for working with children. In high school I was lucky enough to be part of a program that allowed me to travel to the different schools within my district so I could work with our special education students. The joy of being in the classroom and having the opportunity to work with the students led me to Lindenwood University where I am studying to earn my Masters Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in the Autism Spectrum Disorder. I plan to graduate from Lindenwood in the next three years and pursue my passion for teaching.
